50 things I have learned on our mission!

  1. What a joy it is to serve a mission with my eternal companion!

  2. Expressing thanks for our trials brings me comfort 

  3. How very blessed we are to have President and Sister Naatjes’s inspirational leadership. 

  4. What a blessing to learn from the stellar missionaries we have served with. 

  5. It touched our hearts that a member insisted on making us Wiener Schnitzel even though she was in pain. 

  6. Hiking in the Alps with dear friends is heavenly. 

  7. Music truly invites the Spirit 

  8. How much I miss our grandchildren’s hugs!

  9. The Lord truly guides  His missionaries. 

  10. Jesus Christ directs His work. 

  11. How I love our dear Prophet Russell M. Nelson

  12. I have a desire to keep the commandments with exactness. 

  13. My desire to cleave to my covenants has deepened. 

  14. I have learned to ponder during my scripture study 

  15. It is possible to be happy even though two of our children are going through difficult trials at home. 

  16. Heavenly Father favors those who keep his commandments. 

  17. I can’t live without Kürbiskern Öl!

  18. Studying German everyday works! 

  19. I have realized how much I still have to learn

  20. Acting on promptings immediately brings blessings 

  21. A mission provides important life enriching experiences!

  22. I love seeing my husband directed by the spirit. 

  23. How very much we will miss our wonderful Austrian friends!

  24. Some of our best friends in Austria are less actives (whom we adore)!

  25. The bird chirping in Austria is truly a heavenly chorus!

  26. It is actually possible to understand a thick Styrian dialect 

  27. Riding our bikes along the Murau river is exhilarating 

  28. The friendships we have made here will be eternal. 

  29. I have admiration for the dedication of the AGSM missionaries 

  30. I am learning to avoid nitpicking my husband

  31. Everyone uses “Du”when hiking in the Alps! 

  32. Singing “Er ruft” fills my heart with JOY

  33. When an Austrian agrees to allow us to serve them…it is truly a miracle.

  34. When someone on the street replies “Guten Morgen” I am thrilled!

35.  On the Sundays that we have friends at church we shout for JOY!

36.  I have learned to appreciate being corrected when I make a mistake speaking German. 

37.  I admire the amazing way “Greenies” give talks and testimonies in German! 

38. I have learned that the Lord makes up the difference when we have done all we can do. 

39. I have such an appreciation that our area is the largest and most beautiful in the whole mission. (I have heard!) 

40. I can smile at strangers, hand them a “Finde Christus”card and say “A Schöne Christliche Botschaft für Sie“! 

41. I have learned that our missionary blog is actually read! 

42.  My prayers to find a friend in our apartment building have been answered! 

43. Monika Fellner is a newly found friend of mine!  I prayed for many months that I could find a friend in our apartment complex.  She is a delight and I want to always hold on to this sweet friend!  I have learned that Heavenly Father always answers my prayers in His own good timing! 

44. Our twenty-three  mission has gone lightening FAST! 

45. Each friend we have made in the mission field holds a very special place in our hearts!

46. Member Leader Support for us means…cooking meals a lot!  

47. Serving in a small Austrian branch  has allowed us to get close to the members. 

48. It takes a lot of time to write and rehearse my testimony every month but it has really blessed me and helped me in my quest to learn German.!  

49. Once an Austrian is your friend…the friendship lasts forever!

50. I am  learning to continue in faith and prayer that land can be secured for the Temple to be built in Vienna!
