 Mission Memories

Our mission to the Alpine German Speaking Mission was the most significant church service we have undertaken since our marriage. We can’t say we saw monumental changes such as many new members  joining or members reactivating on our mission. However, we did experience a deeper commitment amongst the members to love and serve each other more faithfully. The Bruck an der Mur branch was infused with a renewed realization that this little outpost in Steiermark is under the Lord’s care. When that realization sank in, we had very fulfilling church services and classes. The Lord’s spirit became abundant and strong, giving members strength to meet the challenges of the new week with more hope and purpose. 

The friends we made while on our mission are eternal and we think about them constantly and pray for them continually.  Steiermark (Styria) is a magical place. The astonishing verdant scenery and majestic mountains are so God inspiring. Here is where God’s majesty instills reverent awe of the earth more than perhaps any where else. 

Anyone lucky enough  to serve the Lord in Steiermark will be changed forever, by teaching  gospel truths, loving God’s children in this field, and living in heaven while still on earth. 

The Restored Gospel of Christ is true and contains God’s plan of happiness. May we all have an experience that imparts this realization such as Sharon and I had in the Alpine German Speaking Mission.
