Visiting branch members

Today we went to register at the Rathaus, something that all foreigners must do when they stay a longer period of time. We couldn’t complete the transaction because we didn’t know the name of the agency or person who actually must sign the document.  But, at least we found the Rathaus so we don’t have to ask anyone where it is or where to park when we go next time.

After that, Sharon bought a stylish red parka because she forgot to bring a coat or jacket.  The weather is quite chilly and rainy, so it served her well already.

We made an appointment to visit Sister Bernier and her grandson, Isaak, who is visiting her from Hamburg. The drive to her town, Murau, goes through the most stunning landscape imaginable. It took about an hour to drive there. Many members of the Bruck an der Mur branch live long distances from the church, and it makes them feel so isolated and neglected. We had a nice meal provided by Sister Bernier and her grandson, visited about many different things, and asked them how we could help.

We decided we would call her during the week and once a month, we will arrange to get her to church.  This was a pleasant day and we so enjoyed getting acquainted with Sister Bernier and Isaak.  When we got home from our outing, we took some cookies to our neighbors across the landing from us.  The parents weren’t home but a nice teenage boy opened the door and we were able to introduce ourselves and give him a card and cookies. We went for a walk tonight exploring the neighborhood. We live in a quiet, clean, and convenient part of town.
