The enchanting city of Vienna!
We are thrilled every time we have stake conference in Vienna! We sang in a choir of missionaries in the saturday night session. Since we had a practice saturday afternoon and a session that evening and also wanted to attend the sunday morning session, we decided to rent a room in Vienna instead of driving the two hours back and forth two days in a row!
The stake conference was wonderful! Elder Carl Hirst was the visiting general authority. He gave two incredible addresses and we were able to visit with him before the sunday morning session because we got there an hour early. (Austria went off daylight savings time that weekend and we didn’t know it! It was surely better than being an hour late!)
We were happy to get a picture with our dear mission President Scott Naatjes and his wife Jodi. (see photo) They are so loved by all the missionaries in the Alpine German Speaking Mission. They both spoke in the sunday morning session. (They began their mission in the summer of 2020.) Sister Naatjes is learning german and read her talk very well. President Naatjes is a stellar speaker and always shares such inspirational accounts of the miracles the missionaries report to him in their weekly letters.
Afterwards, we met David McMurray, a friend of ours who was traveling in Vienna. We met for dinner and had a delightful time. (see photos)
Vienna is truly an enchanting city and there is so much more to see and enjoy in that grand city. We are excited to return and enjoy the enchanting city of Vienna Austria many times during the next two years! (see photos)
