A choice visit from Nathan and Kristen and children!
We took a guided tour of Neuschwanstein Castle on June 7th. (The Disneyland Castle was designed after this one!) It was just as enchanting as you can imagine!
On June 9th, we met our son Andrew and Joao in Salzburg and really enjoyed spending time with them and enjoyed a meal together that evening. We savored bread at Stifts Backerei…a 700 year old bakery!
After leaving Salzburg we traveled to Hallstatt, Austria. We took a delightful boat ride around the lake. This gorgeous lakeside resort is one of the oldest places in recorded history. This village dates back from 1100-700 BC and is associated with the Bronze Age. So beautiful! Hallstatt is one of our favorite places in Austria!
Next city… Leoben Austria (our home for two years!) Nathan and Kristen offered to perform in our branch. The entire family sang a beautiful arrangement of I am a child of God. It was such perfect timing because during the month of June, our stake in Vienna chose Eternal Families as the theme! I accompanied them on the piano and it was such a thrill. They sing so beautifully together and it added to the wonderful spirit we enjoyed in our sacrament meeting. Little four year old Eleanor sang with her whole heart as did Lydia, Abigail and Canon and Kristen and Nathan! Our branch members love meeting our children and getting to know them. After the meetings our branch shared a delicious meal together in our building. The branch members fell in love with all of them! That Sabbath day was truly a blessing for all of us. It was a love fest!!! Our branch president, Michael Korak, wanted to make a recording afterwards. I told our children, we are going to call them the Von Sheranian Family Singers from now on! They are sought after performers! (At least in Bruck an der Mur Österreich!)
Monday through Wednesday and enjoyed sightseeing together in Vienna. What a delightful time we had with our dear children. We are so grateful that they carved out so much time to spend with us. We will never forget the wonderful memories we made together.
How we wish all our children and grandchildren could come to visit us. We love and miss each child and grandchild! We are keeping the vision alive in our hearts that we will all be an eternal family.
Our dear mission president Scott Naatjes keeps saying that we are all on a wonderful vacation here in the Alpine German Speaking Mission! We are all helping to gather Israel in “Heaven on Earth.” What a wonderful blessing to teach of Christ and invite our Heavenly Father’s children to come unto Him!
