Delightful visits from Damon and Kathryn!

Our heartfelt regrets for this very delayed blog post!  We could list lots of excuses!  The important thing is that all is well with us and we are continually enjoying our service in the Alpine German Speaking Mission!

Judd did have pneumonia but he is healthy again and we are grateful.

In the month of September our son Damon was visiting us here in Austria for two weeks.  How we enjoyed his visit!  We’ll always treasure the great conversations, long walks and wonderful meals together.  We traveled to Vienna and Salzburg and Frankfurt Germany as well.  One of the highlights was going on a wonderful hike with Anneliese, a sister in our branch.  We hiked to the top of a mountain and had a delicious lunch in a cozy cabin that serves Austrian cuisine to hungry, tired hikers!

As we travel, we attempt to keep in touch with the members and branch leaders. Since our calling is Member Leader Support Missionaries, much of our ministering is done on the phone and on Sundays during the meetings because our area is so huge geographically!  We visit the members in their homes when possible and share a spiritual message. Their favorite part of each visit is having Judd play a violin solo…a hymn or some other lovely melody.  How his music blesses lives here in Austria!  Austrians really appreciate music!  This country is so rich in its musical history!

Our dear friend Kathryn Sullivan also came to visit us for a week.  We had such a memorable time together!  We enjoyed visiting the salt mines in Hallstatt Austria. Incredible!  We drive to the top of a mountain in Kapfenberg. There is a charming old farmhouse, converted into a restaurant called Prieselbauer. The atmosphere and food were amazing!   We also visited Vienna for a couple of days before Kathryn flew back home.  Schönbrun castle and the Natural history museum were among the highlights.
One of our favorite things to do when we have visitors is bring them to visit our branch, in the beautiful old building we meet in.  The members are delighted to meet our dear ones!  There aren’t many in attendance each week but the spirit of the Lord attends our meetings in abundance!  What we lack in numbers, we make up for in love, warmth and love for our Savior Jesus Christ.  I am including some affectionate photos of some dear branch members that we love very much.

Thanks to all of you who follow our blog!  We love you all and thank you kindly for your prayers and your efforts to keep in touch with us.

Will you all please pray with us that land can be acquired to build a holy temple of the Lord, in Vienna Austria?

Hugs…
