Treasure Hunting

For Christmas I gave Judd a book with photos and explanations about 100 treasures in Steiermark Austria!  Steiermark is the state that we live in…that just happens to be the most beautiful state in the country of Austria!

One of our favorites: We went to Seckau, Austria to visit the Benediktiner Abbey.  It is locatd 45 minutes to the Southwest of Leoben and was well worth the time it took to get there.  This monastery schooled men in the liturgical music performed for the Masses. It was founded in 1140!  Today there are twelve Monks who live there in austerity.  Today the abbey is predominantly used as a school for the arts.
